POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Facilities, Building Use Department, are seeking interchangeable site supervisors. The site supervisors will need to have experience working as a stage hand, for its Performing Arts Centers non-school hour’s events. This will be a “pool of participants” that is rotated between BSD’s high school performing arts centers events in the evenings and weekends. It would be considered a “temporary hourly” paid assignment, with no guarantee of number of hours available monthly.

• Good public relations a must. • Direct and clear communication. • Must be able to work as part of a crew on set-up and strike of assigned events. • Must have the capability to communicate via email.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
• Reports directly to and is supervised by the Performing Arts Center Coordinator
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (positions in this class typically require):
Required:
• High School diploma/GED
Preferred:
• Knowledge and multiple uses of the following: Computers, Audio boards, Light boards, Microphones, monitors, cords, Fly/rigging systems: weighting, clouds, Projection/screen systems
LICENSING REQUIREMENTS (positions in this class typically require):
• Valid Washington State Driver’s License
SKILLS (position requirements at entry):
• Ability to quickly, but calmly, discern technical difficulties by probable cause or elimination of variables • Patience with varied artistic personalities; Public Relations • Required working with diverse populations • Capable of last minute change with on-the-job requirements • Oversee crew, when applicable, to assure requirements are met • Flexibility with decisions under pressure • Demonstrates multicultural sensitivity with the ability to effectively and collaboratively work with diverse populations • Ability to perform all duties in accordance with all applicable Board policies and district and legal requirements • Ability to meet and maintain punctuality and attendance expectations
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of forces constantly to move objects.
Incumbents may be subjected to working in high places, climb ladders, work with heavy lighting tools, moving mechanical parts, odors, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and intense noises.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is a temporary hourly position with no benefits. Rate of pay $24.00 per hour. Months, days and hours may vary depending upon assignment.
