POSITION OBJECTIVE:

 

The position of the Floor Crew Assistant is responsible to assist the Floor Crew Leads with floor projects during non-school periods.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)

  • Scrub and wax or strip and wax floors;
  • Carpet extraction and bonneting
  • Move furniture and equipment; arrange tables and chairs back in place when project is complete;
  • Comply with safety procedures;
  • Secure building by locking doors, closing windows, turning off lights, exhaust fans and other equipment and setting alarms;
  • Other duties as assigned.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Reports directly to and is supervised by Custodial Supervisor/Manager

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (positions in this class typically require):

Required

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

Preferred

  • Previous experience working on a floor team

Allowable Substitution

  • Previous experience and qualifications may be flexible.

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS (positions in this class typically require):

  • CPR/First Aid required within 60 days of employment;
  • Washington State driver’s license.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.

 

Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of forces constantly to move objects.

 

This position requires physical endurance.

 

Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and intense noises.

 

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

 

This is a temporary hourly assignment, work during non-school days, with a pay differential of $1.25 per hour above the Custodian's fte assignment. 

 

NOTE:

 

This position may require more schedule flexibility to meet school needs.

 

This position will be reopened each summer and will need to be reapplied for. During the year you will hold the Floor Crew Assistant position during the Summer, Winter, Midwinter and Spring break.
